I'm planning to attend Defcon 12 this month. But, I cannot make it there until Saturday, which will be the 2nd day of the convention. Do you think I'll still be able to register onsite on Sat morning and attend the remaining 2 days? Thanks in advance.

Originally posted by Voltage SpikeIn other words, you should be okay. The problem will be getting past the security to purchase the badge, but I wouldn't worry too much.
What are you smoking? The registration area is outside the rest of the conference... so you can get a badge... so you can go inside...
Registration will be open as long as there are badges left. If there are still some left on Sunday, we'll be open Sunday. So, while you're missing a lot of the fun not being there sooner, you'll have no problem getting a badge on Saturday.the fresh princess of 1338

I seem to have been corrected. In my experience (although I always show up on Thursday), the badges are sold in either the Parthenon or just outside the Apollo ballroom ... both of which are restricted access during the convention.Originally posted by octalpusWhat are you smoking? Good luck and I hope to see you there, wasatch.Comment

Apollo Foyer
Registration is held in the Apollo foyer. The main access to this room is via the outside of the hotel, in the front, near front door entrance to the hotel registration/front desk. They have not held registration in the Parthenon the last 3 or 4 years.blackbeetleComment

It was covered in another thread as being fine. You have money (cash/US Dollars) to pay for the badges, they will take your money and give you passes.Originally posted by cobrahooAny problems with one person registering/paying for 11 other people who are coming in late Friday ?

You mean besides getting mugged? ;)Originally posted by cobrahooAny problems with one person registering/paying for 11 other people who are coming in late Friday ?
If it were me, I'd make them register: they might not make it (I am fairly certain they don't offer refunds), and I sincerely doubt they will run out of badges by late Friday.
But other than that...
They sell badges at the "registration" desk. Unlike some other events you might have attended, they do not know or care to whom the badges are going. If you hand them $960 in cash, they will give you twelve admissions.Comment

When the answer has been covered in another thread, that is one thing, but when you post a question for which the answer is provided in the same thread... what does that mean?Originally posted by colfaxIs it possible to have a friend purchase a badge for me? He will be arriving at the convention on thursday, and I'll probobly be delayed till friday afternoon.
Look back in this thread to my previous post, and replies from others to a similar question.Comment
