  • SATA mirror for FreeBSD/AMD64

Anyone have recommendations for an SATA controller capible of RAID-1 that's compatible with FreeBSD/AMD64? I've heard good things about the HighPoint RocketRaid cards, but I don't know if their drivers will work in an AMD64 kernel...

:D I would recommend any RocketRaid card.

I'm using the RocketRaid 1820A with SuSe and Windows XP for the ADM64 as the OS's. It works great for web servers, video streaming, gaming and back ups. It can be utilized to for NAS storage and security systems as well, but I haven’t used it for that yet. I’m not quite sure if I ever will either.

It would be a good choice to go with. Besides it is compatible with FreeBSD.

Also, if you overclock your box, you shouldn't have any problems while using the RocketRaid. I have yet to encounter an issue with it in an overclocked box.

You may also want to take a look at the RocketRaid 1820, it is also compatible with the OS's your looking at and it may be more of what you're looking for.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice, I think I'll give a RocketRaid card a try...

I got mine from PC Club, they have really good prices.

PC Club in Denver (1567 S. Colorado Blvd., Denver ), should carry some in store. They also have online ordering so you don't have to drive down. PC CLUB
