Maybe by SP3 they'll get it right... then Longhorn will be out with another whole round of security holes...

"Given the significant amount of user action required to execute an attack, Microsoft does not consider this to be a high risk for customers," a company representative said, adding that the software giant's security experts are continuing to research the issue.
        Love quiz!

Step 1: Click and drag this image to one of the right 3 circles.
        Step 2: Answer these questions:
        - What is your best friends name?
        - more random, totally pointless questions about "love" (what a joke)
Step 3: Click submit, if the page doesn't say "Results page", restart your computer.
There goes every family's computer in the US which is accesable by a teenage girl.

          Worried about Longhorn

Bascule Maybe by SP3 they'll get it right... then Longhorn will be out with another whole round of security holes...

When Longhorn is released supposedly in 2005 I hear that every program's data (of its use) and every website visited is automatically returned to Microsoft as part of their "data collection policy." As for its flaws it just looks like Xp with a different theme so I am expecting a minimum of an hour to download fixes for it right out of the box. I feel sorry for the consumer who gets duped into buying Windows next OS.

i see a pattern. Like male pattern baldness. Systematically reducing hair in the individual.

              So. Lets analyze this.

Windows 95. Crappy system. lots of holes. But it did work

Wow Windows 98 and its VXD errors. What a nice thought.

Hrm. Win ME with even more of win 98 goodness and no real advancement

Win 2000 with its half assed decent system. Did support software raid mind you

Win XP however doesnt and more. Including integration of .net and all that other Homogonized crap. Im affraid windows was doomed to Featurfication from the start. Oh pretty button. Look at the pretty button. See the pretty blue button.
Not to mention good ol blaster worm. From the LSASS crap to the SVCHOST crap they got going on. they took out Software raid. and introduced a firewall. A firewall that looks more like a match in front of a tidal wave.

SO. SP2 Rolls along. wow a firewall. That has buttons. But typically still no better than the usuall assware M$produces.

I have a feeling they are going for to many widgets and dohickeys and not concerning as to how many holes they create. Patch a leak with a pump. Yea thatll work. Helps the water through the hole.

              hehe

The short and sweet truth of the Windows OS and Bill Gates brainchild is that the Windows OS fills a niche in the computer world. It is for people whos lives do not revolve around computers be it for recreation or a job. So if you do not like Windows than you have the option of using a different OS instead of ranting about the evils of the corporate monopoly dating back to the robber barons and the "Gilded" Age.
