I'm always looking for new movies to watch and wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations.

    Mine:

    -Control Room (documentary on Al-Jazeera)
    -American History X
    -Donnie Darko
    -Waking Life
    -Traffic
    -This Is Spinal Tap
    -The Shawshank Redemption
    -Life Is Beautiful (Italian film)
The mighty man will become a tinder and his works a spark; both will burn together with nothing to quench the flames.

i recommend either 'pie' or 'the wall.' 'one hour photo' is really really good as well. american history x was probably the best movie i think i have ever seen. i really want to see donnie darko. those three movies were the ones that came to mind when you asked this question, so i posted it.

Movies that changed how I view movies:
      1. Boondock Saints
      2. Fight Club (Read the book though first)
      3. Resevoir Dogs - or any Tarantino Film except from Dusk till Dawn <that movie was fucked up even though he only acted in it.
      4. Patton
      5. Gummo <odd but intriguing
      6. Clerks/Mallrats/Dogma/Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (Chasing Amy sucked though Amy is HOT!)
      7. Rushmore
      8. Kids and Bully both by Larry Clark <seriously Fucked up movies that make you pity the youth of America, however they are strongly acted.
      9. Wizard of Oz (The writer meant it as a social commentary on the populist movement, Williams Jennings Bryant and the Gold Standard, and their affect upon the U.S)
      10. Shogun (Long)

*Also if anyone has seen Gilliams Brazil or Lost in Translation tell me if you thought they were worth a look.
      Did Everquest teach you that?

Gotta say, 'Equilibrium' was damn good ... sorta matrix/1984 themes

other than that, the resident evil movies are good and enjoyable for a dumb horror flick
