    Printer Server

    Hello again guys (and thorn)

    Im trying to make my life a little easier;

    I live in a house with 2 other students and we all share the usb printer connected to my laptop. All computers are WinXP home SP2. What i want to be able to do is simply control the print jobs from my laptop. When i print a document from my laptop to the connected printer i can see the print jobs lined up. When one of the other computers creates a new print job it does not show up on either my laptop or their laptops. All i want is for thier priter jobs to show up in the printer queues so that i can cancel them if necessary.

    If you dont understand what im trying to say please ask and i will try to explain differently.

    Thanks in advanced.

    Simply run the printer of your computer and share it. That way you can set up all the permission rights. Other than that you can run a print server which for 3 pcs I do not think is practical. Ohh wait I forgot the obvious answer turn the printer off so that they have to ask permission to use it.
    Did Everquest teach you that?

      You can set priority on the printer and give yourself the HIGHEST number. I googled it and found this link:

      http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d...l_pif_dvpd.asp

      and this one...
