I am curious... are there any Ubuntu Linux users out ther in this forum. I have a question... why did Ubuntu get so much attention (it was slashdotted) when all the other hundreds of debian distros did not. What set's Ubuntu apart from the rest of the pack?

Debians FAI is a bitch compared to Ubuntu's streamlined installation approach. Support is also a key issue with any Distribution or Windows OS for that matter, and the staff for Ubuntu seem to care enough to release regular security and software updates.
