    Ubuntu Linux

    I am curious... are there any Ubuntu Linux users out ther in this forum. I have a question... why did Ubuntu get so much attention (it was slashdotted) when all the other hundreds of debian distros did not. What set's Ubuntu apart from the rest of the pack?

    Debians FAI is a bitch compared to Ubuntu's streamlined installation approach. Support is also a key issue with any Distribution or Windows OS for that matter, and the staff for Ubuntu seem to care enough to release regular security and software updates. As for why it became so popular whos to say. Why did Tickle Me Elmos and Furbees become so popular?
    Did Everquest teach you that?

      My two theories on that one:
      1) Marketing folks are smart, sheeple are stupid.
      2) God hates us.

      Why else would those damn "Billy Bass" singing fish sell?

            Seems to me that this would be an excellent subject for the embedded TCP/IP competition and put Lost on his heels. Oh the hilarious things a flopping fish can say and do, especially after a night of hard drinking.
