  • Pringles anyone??

    Evening,
I have read lots about making an antenna for WIFI out of a pringles can, can anyone tell me how i then connect this upto my laptop??
There seems to be no way of connecting it to the laptop or the WIFT PCMCIA card.
    Anyone help??
    Cheers.

      Cheers noid,

The netstumbler people dont seem very friendly and when someone asks for advice seem to avoid answering the question and just poke fun at them.
I will give it a shot anyhow.

      Thanks

Usually it's the other way around, that's usually what happens here.

All I have to say is, if you live in or near Colorado Springs, I would not use a pringles can. You may get stopped by Police and trust me it sucks.

Google for 'cantenna'. You'll find a *lot* of stuff detailing exactly how to build and attach it. Just be aware that this may involve opening your wifi card and soldering things to it if it doesn't have an external antenna connector.

Not true. We are quite friendly over at NS Forums. We just lay the smackdown when people ask retarded questions like 'how do i gain access to my neighbor's WiFi without him knowing.' Hell, for that matter, try that one here and see how friendly we are.

I think the most common way to connect it is by using a pig-tail... Here's a howto on cantenna... http://www.turnpoint.net/wireless/cantennahowto.html

Aside from being complete douches to anyone we choose, we at NS really are nice people.

I could suggest a GREAT BOOK that explains it all, in fact I have heard some people even refer to it as a bible!
