Java security exploit

I'm sure most of you have already seen this, but a security vulnerability was recently discovered in the Java browser plug-in for running applets:

I hope that this will lead people to realize that "sandboxed" execution is only a band-aid on underlying architectural problems with computer security stemming from a lack of hardware memory protection, at least on IA32...
