Sad Anniversary

December 22nd 2003 began the disappearance of Blackwave. His last known public sighting was on the 21st with his final upload to wigle.net.

On the one year anniversary of the final upload, WiGLE collected their two millionth access point. Fitting.

I miss Blackwave. Will he ever resurface? At this point, I doubt it....but hope springs eternal.

I think he had a lot of fear about us finding the "real blackwave". When we got too close he got uncomfortable. I wish he'd come back, we all care about him and his family. Most of us are fairly open with our real identities (at least to our closer friends) and don't worry about them knowing our real names, where we live, etc. even if they are "evil hackers"

Come back blackwave! We're still keeping your seat warm.

I think the point at which his post count was surpassed finalized it for me. He is missed.

Yes, after I passed his post count I figured he'd knock at my door and break my keyboard in two. I have fond memories of him, that is much better than going on on a bad note.

We used to meet for lunch at D&B once a month. Had a lot of fun. Blackwave if you are out there, it's Wolfgang's Puck's tomorrow about 5pm, the Block at Orange!
