James Darren is doing shows at the Suncoast the weekend of con. Anyone else feel like going maybe Sunday night and catching Poolcon later?

      Bobby Darren's little brother?
If I had a nickle for every time someone offered me ten cents to keep my two cents to myself... I would be a rich man.

SunCoast has a nice pool on the second floor there, and it's pretty private. Only 20min drive from AP/V

Cool, if there's enough interest maybe we can get a group together. Thank god the star trek convention shifted to the next weekend after con.

Man, Time Tunnel was a favorite show when I was a kid, but I didn't realise he'd taken up singing.

I didn't either until I watched a few Deep Space Nines last month. He played a Las Vegas hologram...did a great job. Quite a coincidence one of his three gigs this year is during DC13.

Looking back, it was cheesy as hell, but I loved Time Tunnel too. Ever see the Ben Stiller skit "B minus Time Traveller"?

Can't say as I have seen the skit.

TT was cheezy, especially in retrospect, but it was a great premise for getting Tony and Doug in and out of different situations (and cliffhangers) each week. Besides at 10 year old I wasn't as fussy about things like plot lines, logic, and character development.

                    http://www.iann.net/timetunnel/episodes.htm

In the 60's I also was a big fan of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea which was another Irwin Allen production.

If you are referring to the song being obscure, I think most people are familiar with the Lo-Fidelity Allstars. If you are referring to people at Defcon that "aim to please", then you are getting into the obscure.

Found out something I didn't know, he's the godfather of Nancy Sinatra's kid. He actually *was* a headliner during the 60's. One of the last entertainers alive that used to hang out with the Rat Pack.

Got his last two cds a couple of days ago. Crazy...(snapping fingers)
