I think having this kind of stuff for kids is pretty cool. If I were a kid and had access to the Internet and that site, I would have played there instead of magazines like GAMES.Originally posted by bascule
It came up on channel a few months back, but I don't remember it having been posted here before your post.Apologies if everyone has seen this a million times -
As an aside, anyone read Alvin Fernald as a kid? Good books, one covered substitution cyphers and simple code...kept me busy the summer after 1st grade.
Did a google and amazon is selling them still.

Dumbass.
The truth is that there does exist a gender bias in many cultures today. While I personally believe this is primarily the effect of "nurture" and not a "nature" (simply based on my personal observations), I don't think the solution is to simply ignore the "problem".
(As a side note, I don't think the solution is to treat women differently, either ... stupid Women in Computer Science groups.)Comment

this thread switched topics real fast. The reason Wesson357 probobly thinks that is he's never been around a real girl, all of his knowledge of the opposite sex comes from TV."Fundamentalism: It's how you get all the mysteries of the universe to fit on a bumper sticker"

I have noticed the the women I have met who attended "women in computer science" classes, or worse still womens college are often a little to uptight and thin-skinned to cut it in the real world.

The potential outcome generates quite a mental image. Thank God years of far, far worse things on the intarweb have more or less inured me to such things.Originally posted by zeroYou're offering a session on this a DC this year, right?
On another note, I wonder if they sell stuffed Crypto Cat toys; my cat could use something to tear apart other than the couches.Comment
