Offline Vegas events

I was searching for stuff to do when defcon and the pools were offline. We have talked in the past about Blue Man Group and other events. The Toxic BBQ and Quarks seem to round out the week nicely. Do we have any other free times that we can use to squeeze in some of Vegas?

I found this and realize that Vegas does indeed have everything.

i allways squeeze in some generic gambling/slot time... but its usually on an "as time is available" basis....

I'm going to see James Darren (Gidget, Time Tunnel, TJ Hooker, Deep Space 9, Sinatra-esque singer)at the Suncoast, probably Sunday night...
That isn't really "free time" though...my luck and they'll schedule Sushicon 2 for Sunday night.

To each his own. Every time I've been to Fry's they have BMG on every video monitor and surround sound...I feel like I've already seen them.

I too have seen so many previews I wonder what will be new. I check vegas dot com and get some ideas, and bug Siviak since he lives there. I will have more time this year since I will be alone, so I will make the most of it.

I saw Penn and Teller 3 or 4 years ago and their show was pretty good.
I also saw "Tribute to Red Skelton" in 1998 which was "eh. whatever"
Star Trek Experience several years in a row and that was fun the first time, but "eh. whatever" on future runs. (Why more than one? I took other guests.)
I've seen other shows, but don't remember what they were.

Siviak will proably tell us about the night show with the helocopters as being pretty good. ;-)

'circ's show 'O' was pretty damned good.... but fantastically expensive... but they have their zoomanity show now... which is suppsed to be awsome/artsy/and borderline porn..... (lots of nekkid folks)

yes the heilo show is impressive, when you get to see it.

ANYTHING Circ is amazing.

I have still not been to BMG but have yet to hear of anyone going that didn't enjoy it.

I still thikn that a few of us should pack up and take a ride out to A51.

One of the girls that dances in Splash hangs out at my bar.

The Amazing Jonathan now lives at the Golden Nugget, he is worth seeing.

Last year a few of us went out to A51. Lots of signs and above ground sensors at the gate. Snapped a pic of the ol' "Use of deadly force is authorized" sign. Saw a white suburban with two guys in it with binoculars and cameras.
There's a new A51 museum out there a guy was building when we went last year. I'd like to think he has it completed by now. We'll be going again this year on Monday

I should be in town with some people still, if we want to get a group together and go out to A51... I think it would be pretty cool. I'd love to go.
Then again... 10 cars pulling up in a caravan to A51 would look pretty crazy to anyone that patrols it. So maybe its not such a good idea.

Unless you are really a huge Abba fan, I would stay away from Mama Mia.
The talent is really great, its just not my taste.
