Ok Heres the deal, I have saved up exactly $278.50 for defcon. My problem right now is I DO NOT have a RIDE. From the cash I have I'll Pay for gas and stuff. I just want a little bit to spend on 'goodies at the con'.

If you are driving to defcon from Anywhere in California, and are kind enough to hook me up with a ride contact me. I appreciate it.

P.S: I dont need any special treatment, spending the night is also questionable at this point, if theres a floor somewhere i am cool ;). Also , I am willing to bring lots of food during the ride i believe. redbull, beef jerky,snacks etc...

I am located around Lakewood/Long Beach/Cerritos, But for defcon, I really dont mind getting a ride from a friend to hitch a ride. Even if you are driving somewhat farther from where I am.

In another thread someone begged for room space, received offers, then backed out. I am sure other agree with me that unless you are offering cash to save your spot, we're not that likely to guarantee anything right now. For DC8 a ride was begged of me and I ended up leaving late because I waited around for someone who never showed and never called.

I certainly understand where you are coming from, I mean If I was offering a ride to some stranger I would probably do the same thing. And I can assure you 200% that I dont back out if its set. its not my style.
But heres the thing:

If I get the opportunity to go to defcon (a ride) and me and the other person talk it over way BEFORE hand (at least a week before i guess) I would never even think about backing off, and besides defcon is pretty important to me in terms of knowledge acquired.

So no worrys on dissapointment.

I'm still 99% sure I'm going. I'll definately get a rental to drive out there (Ideally, a Monte Carlo as the mileage is astoundingly good and it's a damn nice ride). Look me up at the next dc213 meeting.
