    I can make one point in defence of the PS3: its potential for use in distributed computing.

    But yeah, it's a pretty hard stretch to come up with anything else. I like cotman's idea of turning people loose on old systems (thread's here) and seeing what they come up with. Yeah, having the latest whizzbang acclerated 9-D textured polygon with 8.12 stereo reproductive apparatus drive-in-display commodity box is great, but let's see them establish a terminal connection on a 6502-based machine, or better still, write a terminal application from scratch...

    If I were a real bastard, that last sentence would've ended 'in LOGO' :)
