  • Anyone need a ride to the AP from off-site?

    I live in vegas and would be willing to give anyone a ride to anyone who is getting a room outside of the AP and dosent want to worry about a taxi or whatnot (they can be damn expensive).

    it's very nice of you to offer that service, but a taxi runs like $6. you'll almost spend that much in gas if you show up at the airport, idle for a while waiting for the person to get bags, etc. will you be charging people? will they pay cash, beer, hand jobs? provide more detail so others know what's up.

I don't feel cool when I go there. I'm tired of seeing John Mayer's face pop up. I feel like I'm being hustled when I visit there, and I don't think their product is that great. DRM, low bit rate, etc... OiNK it existed because it filled a void of what people want."

      Eh, if your a good looking 18-22 year old female, maybe we can work a hand job out.

      I was just offering as I remember paying a little under 20 bucks getting from the airport to a hotel before I lived here and thought it was a fucking rip. I live pretty close to the strip anyway so if anyone didnt want to have to pay out the nose its just a quick stop for me.

        I'll have to remember that line; it sounds like a real winner.

        You were getting screwed by the cabbies. I think the most I've ever paid for a taxi from McCarren to <insert hotel/casino name here> was around $9, and that was going down to the far end of the strip.

          allow me to provide you with this warning; Though it is a cool thing that you are offering to do be careful for a few reasons;

          1. some people that you offer to pick up might be insane and provide more issues than praise.

          2. make sure you get a list of people that you plan to pick up and make a schedule (trust me on this one.. it sucks not being able to have a few drinks because you have to make ANOTHER trip tonight)

          3. have some self control. I can't count the number of times I had a 9am pick up and ended up smashed by 10:30 because they HAD to buy me a drink afterwards.

          in short I will say that what you are doing IS cool. And you will meet a bunch of cool people. And thank you for doing this so I don't have to any more :)
          If I had a nickle for every time someone offered me ten cents to keep my two cents to myself... I would be a rich man.

            I dont doubt that I was getting screwed by the cabbies, but I guess that was kind of why I posted. The other part is to meet people, which is always fun to do, especially at defcon . Anyway, thanks for the warnings, and the offer still stands if anyone is interested dispite it all haha.
