There is a military surplus store in my area with a bin of S&G 8088's for sale. If anyone is interested I can bring some to the CON. I am under the impression that these can be hard to find, which is why I am posting this. If no one is interested I won't bring any because I plan on packing very light.

that's the combination padlock, right? if i recall, the government issued some memos requesting that agencies and so forth discontinue their use due to concerns about the lock potentially being defeated too easily. now, it's an S&G so "easily" is a relative term. for civillian use i'm certain they're fine.
personally, i'm going to appeal during my talk for anyone who can obtain model 833 padlocks for me. i've got a couple things that i'd dream of securing with them but they are impossible to acquire."I'll admit I had an OiNK account and frequented it quite often… What made OiNK a great place was that it was like the world's greatest record store… iTunes kind of feels like Sam Goody to me. I don't feel cool when I go there. I'm tired of seeing John Mayer's face pop up. I feel like I'm being hustled when I visit there, and I don't think their product is that great. DRM, low bit rate, etc... OiNK it existed because it filled a void of what people want."

That's right. I had a friend change the combo for me so I could try to manipulate it. I found it very easy to get the last number. I was also able to feel two other gates on the wheels but I couldn't determine the correct numbers from them. I haven't spent very much time on it, I put it on the backburner along with so many other projects.Originally posted by Deviant Ollamthat's the combination padlock, right? if i recall, the government issued some memos requesting that agencies and so forth discontinue their use due to concerns about the lock potentially being defeated too easily. now, it's an S&G so "easily" is a relative term.Comment
