    Russian spammer found murdered

    Battered to death

NOTORIOUS Russian spammer Vardan Kushnir has been found battered to death in his Moscow apartment.

Kushnir, 35, headed the English learning centers the Center for American English, the New York English Centre and the Centre for Spoken English. These outfits have aggressive Internet advertising policies and are famous for having reached almost every Russian computer owner at least once, some hundreds of times.

According to Mosnews, Kushnir died of being hit repeatedly about the head. Although Russian law allows spam, it is quite difficult to find many people sympathetic to Kushnir.

The American English Centre has been targeted by Internet protestors who published the Center’s telephone numbers anywhere on the Web to provoke telephone calls. They managed to use the number for cheap sex services, or bargain real estate sales.

WWW.cartoon.ru even ran a “Kill the American English Centre” contest to protest against Kushnir’s outfit.

Kushnir was famous for saying that "spam was what e-mails were for", while it is unlikely that it was an anti-spam campaigner who offed him, there are a good number who would have liked to see him the wrong side of a blunt instrument.

If it was a murder-suicide with a lawyer, it would be perfect.
