That is pretty bad. There was a real lack of drive to support it on the DefCon Forums once the contest was reassigned away from an enthusiast like LoSTboy. He brought a lot of energy and support to the contest, and really worked hard to bring interest and encourage people to compete. They had a really good head start in the forums provided by LoST, but there was little forum discussion after it was taken over. I wonder if it would be possible to reassign the contest to run under LoST? He did win last year (2004) where there were people competing and If this were to happen, then the team providing the demo could actually compete.Originally posted by nakYes, no one competed/entries backed out at the last minute.
DC480 (UAT) brought their project for a demo of a TCP/IP appliance (a cute clear ball that rolled around named I.C.A.R.U.S.), but there was no entries.
Is this contest officially dead now?Comment

I have tried to stay out of this until after CON. If I get the go-ahead to run the contest for DC14 I will start work *now*-
*shrug*
That's too bad that nobody entered. I knew of several teams that were working on ideas/builds, I wonder what happened to them...
