    Windows new anti-piracy system defeated.. 3 days after release

    It appears that Micro$haft really screwed the pooch on this one and either A) had a major oversight in their design, or B) left in test code that was found. I cannot imagine how they plan to recover this, and no patches have been released since I just checked a moment ago.

      MS is directing too much attention towards these kind of things and still fails to get them right... The problem really is that MS atracts so many people that it becomes only a matter of time before things like this get cracked (which in this case isn't much...).

      It's not really possible to protect a software component against crackers. The only way to do this would be to only enable remote execution... Which isn't really an option But the real solution would be to go and search for other types of income from the software in question as many companies have already done...

      I don't know, but I have began to believe that fighting piracy is a waste of resources and only provides a hobby for the people of the "dark side" What now-a-days is still the only reason to buy a software is personal support and concience...

          ... actually, I remember that being released within 24hours of WGA going live... I'm not convinced it is a 'hack' Based on knowledge of some Microsoft practices during the development of whistler, I believe it to be a scheme created by them to get a definitive rollcount of those willing to take extra means to circumvent their copyright protection. Release by way of a 1337 crax0r and you now have millions of pirates running the script.

          ... seriously. Do you really think that they aren't logging every IP and session that uses the Javascript flag to bypass the check? Oh right.. thoz micro$haft c0dr noobs suk bwhaha
