On several ocassions I've stmbled upon wireless networks in places they really should'nt be, and with no security.

Good neighboor policy says tht you should let them know. However in todays climate of fear and greed, it's been my experience that people with either do one of several things:

    -Ignore the problem

-Actually listen and fix the problem quietly

-Acually listen and fix the problem with many thanks

-Get very upset at the ego-bruise that some random person is pointing out the emperor has no clothes

    -Call a lawyer

    -Call the Feds

    -Accuse you of Blackmail/extorsion

I generally don't let people know because, depending on the persons mood and thier selective hearing, the phrase "I was doing some consulting in the area and found this problem you should fix" can quickly become "Pay me money or I'll hack your network"

It's usually no worth it. The only exception is medical facilities, but I have thier boss's boss on my speed dial and he knows me, so it's easy to alert them.
Never drink anything larger than your head!
