Hey, I know this is a bit early (...only a couple of light years ahead) Just thought of planning ahead (little too ahead? maybe) this time......but anyway if you are planning on going to defcon 14 anywhere from CALIFORNIA (em..long beach if possible) and dont mind hooking me up with a ride or roomspace (i just need floorspace for sleepin bag)...{PM me } ..thx oh yea..one more thing I am saving money ..but since i am a college student I am broke to the extreme

nah, but I will be the first to comment on how difficult it was to read that post. I'm sure potential ride buddies would be delighted if you cleaned the grammar up a little bit. Also, you might consider making your title a little more specific, like "Ride from Long Beach CA".

Generally there is a Ride and Roomshare board that comes out closer to the conference, so this post will likely be moved there at that point.

It is really too early to be planning such things through the forums with people like this. There is too much risk for plans to change and people to cancel without notification.

The Rides and Room Sharing section will probably be moved out for use ~2 months before the con.

Try finding people at a local DC Users Group meeting to talk with them in-person and see if they will make plans with you-- odds are that they won't plan that far in advance.

Ya. Being in LB, you have LA2600 , IVU, and DC213 all pretty much in your backyard. Get to know your neighbors and working a ride out will be a hell of a lot easier come next summer.

I offered rides from southern CA for DC13, everyone who was so worried about having a ride either flaked out of got their own ride. Not many people can promise a ride this early in the game, and even less can promise they will be there for the ride.
