Discussing merits is one thing in relation to a general populous of ignorance, but bragging about not having control over your own box? ... that doesn't serve help your argument. get a grip on your own interfaces yo, knowledge cancels innocense and brings obligation.if it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud; and I'm gonna go there free. -
Hahaha, that's not what I meant you dude :P . If you think about it for a second, Windows won't connect automatically to a wireless connection unless a) it has been previously connected to said connection, b) I haven't removed it from the driver's memory, and c) it's set to automatically connect to that particular connection. So really, what I said made no sense in any way/shape/form, so maybe I should go back and edit my own comment :D .Originally posted by converge...bragging about not having control over your own box? ... that doesn't serve help your argument. get a grip on your own interfaces yo, knowledge cancels innocense and brings obligation.

not necessarily. while the windows O/S won't automatically connect unless you tell it to, many WiFi cards nowadays have totally shit-ass drivers and management software that attempt to do all the thinking for the user. i've seen some Intel brand adapters (mostly hardware that's built-in to laptops) which will connect automatically to any WiFi points that they even remotely recognize, whether or not the user has asked for this "feature" to be enabled.Originally posted by Beacon 11Windows won't connect automatically to a wireless connection unless ... it's set to automatically connect to that particular connection.
if you're going to use my old sig text verbatim, at least include the original citation, as well... this quote is from A.C Hobbs's book Locks and Safes: The Construction of Locks, edited by Charles Tomlinson and published by Virtue & Co., London, 1853 (revised 1868).Originally posted by Beacon 11Rogues knew a good deal about lock-picking long before locksmiths discussed it… If a lock… is not so inviolable as it has hitherto been deemed to be, surely it is to the interest of honest persons to know this fact, because the dishonest are… certain to apply the knowledge practically… the spread of the knowledge is necessary to give fair play to those who might suffer by ignorance.
"I'll admit I had an OiNK account and frequented it quite often… What made OiNK a great place was that it was like the world's greatest record store… iTunes kind of feels like Sam Goody to me. I don't feel cool when I go there. I'm tired of seeing John Mayer's face pop up. I feel like I'm being hustled when I visit there, and I don't think their product is that great. DRM, low bit rate, etc... OiNK it existed because it filled a void of what people want."
