goddamnit, why the hell is everything cool way the heck out west.
"I'll admit I had an OiNK account and frequented it quite often… What made OiNK a great place was that it was like the world's greatest record store… iTunes kind of feels like Sam Goody to me. I don't feel cool when I go there. I'm tired of seeing John Mayer's face pop up. I feel like I'm being hustled when I visit there, and I don't think their product is that great. DRM, low bit rate, etc... OiNK it existed because it filled a void of what people want."

I think the maker fare is going to be really bad ass, to bad its far off. If you are going LosT then you have to post pics and plans for the projects ya see. Well you dont have to but it would be realy great for those of us that cant attend.

This looks like a really cool event. I wonder how many events like this one exist around the world near Defcon people?

I wonder if there are enough events like this to dedicate a calendar to "events of interest" to hold things like this? It could include things like SysAdmin group meetings, Linux Groups, BSD/Unix Groups, Cipherpunks, and non-Defcon-but-related-items."

Should it instead be merged with a calendar of Defcon Group meetings?

Are there other events like this that people would be interested in including in a community calendar?

(If this starts to fork this thread, I'll split this discussion into a new thread.)

I'd be completely into this idea if they hadn't used the term 'faire'.

Just caught this writeup on things that went down. .. I'm sure Make will have more details in the next issue as well, but still wish I could have gone ;)

Care to elaborate? Who did what to what manner of robots?
I do know everything, just not all at once. This is commonly referred to as a "virtual memory" problem.

That looks pretty cool. I might have gone for part of a day.. I'm only about 1.5-2 hours away, but I didn't look at this thread until today :(
