About -

theSummit puts togeather EFF, Black Hat / Defcon speakers and Security Experts from around the world. We then open the doors for you to come and hang out with them, pick their brains or just buy em a drink! By only selling small amount of tickets and renting a small location you get an intimate environment to hang out with experts in the online rights and computer security industry.

Last Year Success -

Last year we were able to raise approx $4,200 for the EFF! Hopefully we can beat that number this year!

Current Venue -

We do not have a venue yet. We are looking for a possible location at hotel right now. If you have any good idea's of a location closer then Ice House (last years hosting spot) please send me an IM.

Skyboxes - It appears DC has no control over these on Thursday night. I'm trying to figure out how we can get access to these for a possible location.

If that does not pan out, any thought on location? Last year it was at Ice House as a nod towards Las Vegas downdown redevelopment cause (hosted by locals we were trying to help a local movement as well). But that location seemed too far, and we got proper f*cked with rental place not having van we reserved and leaving us with crappy kia minivan for shuttle.

Generally we try to get he leftovers to the goons that are working Reg.. since they can't make it to the TBBQ it is a good way to show them a bit of love for working while the others get to play.

As for some kind of mass transport from the TBBQ to the Summit, that would be awesome. I would gladly chip in my part for a ride.

That would be pretty kickass, altough you may want to try bugging him for more than one skybox .. iirc the max capacity of a single box was approximately 50.
