    Interesting Times

Yes, I know. My day was very different today. Hey considering the technology we have today, why do we keep flight data recorders and voice recorders on the airplanes themselves? Why do we not feed this information in real time to satellites and then have them all recorded at the same time in some massive RAID system somewhere? Then when there is a crash or whatnot, the file can be reviewed instantly and it would not have to be found.

Maybe I'm just so technologically oriented that I cannot understand why anyone else isn't!

      I doubt it was terrorist

I'm not believing it was terrorist related until someone smart has something to say about it. And that person does not work for the Executive Branch of our government, the CIA or the Pentagon.

Sounds to me like crap maintenance of an old plane. Engines are kind of hard to make fall off an airplane in mid air. And if the terrorist figured that one out then they have my respect b/c thats fucking amazing.

Who said it was terrorists? Everything I've heard has said that it was a mechanical failure.

Of course, everyone's first thought was terrorism, its kinda on all our minds... But no one is saying that that's what happened.

          Two things...

          A) This seems to be a mechanical failure, specificaly a blown turbine. This is actualy one of the most common accidents in an airplane as almost anythingn might set it off.

          B) On the bright side, this is sort of good for us Def Con people, as now is the best time to book your flight to LA. I know it's evil to cash in on other people's misfortunes but, hey even we need a break once in a while.

Flight to LA? You mean LV? Las Vegas? Why would people fly to LA for just to drive 4 hours to Las Vegas?

                duh!

Of COURSE we'd fly to LA just to drive to Vegas! The caravan from Ontario Mills Mall makes it all worth it!
