  • Nintendo Wii - Now With Bluesnarfing

I caught this forum post via the cesspool of humanity that is Digg this morning.

As I have yet to procure a Wii, I can't independently confirm this. If it is true, it would be interesting to see what other items the Wii could snatch from insecure Bluetooth devices laying around.

Hmmm... that's interresting, something tells me that it's a hoax but it does give me more incentive to get my hands on a wii.

could be possible if the wii tries default pair keys or something as a 'helpful feature', but I'm still highly suspicious.

my local news station last night had a story about the wii. i guess the controllers "braclet" that should be on your wrist when playing has been breaking. theres been many reports of the controller flying into the tv or other things due to people swinging to hard breaking the braclet. so far nintendo has no plans of fixing the problem.

I emailed it to a couple wii enthusiasts a couple or so weeks ago... they hadn't tried it but we generally dismissed it as a hoax when the initial forum post it was listed in.. disappeared mid-spread.

Cool. I have a Wii and a lot of my neighbors have bluetooth phones, so I'll have 'em come over and test this out.

Let us know what you find out. I have been thinking of buying one with the excuse that it's for my two grandsons but I am not sure I could get away with it. Maybe once the dust of Christmas settles.
