I was watching some HOPE videos, especially one about 'privacy is dead'.
There's one guy in the audience who asks from the PIs about voice stress and analyzing it, and he mentions they did controlled testing of it. One group was the social engineers, one group was the call center.
He mentions quickly that they did this for a thesis.
Does anyone know about this thesis, it might be still under work though.. I'm extremely interested in contacting this person to know more about it. And perhaps exchange some knowledge and/or resources (material).
Seemed very interesting, they got 80% accuracy rate, and they'd analyze the voice on the phone discussion.
If you know who this person is, please let me know.
Cialdni- spies among us is a good book. My favorite part when NSA was getting pen tested and somebody got threw the security guard"I think of Leroy Greene from mitnicks deception book" with a pic of a dog on the card. Only if the security guard had his leather bound bible with him. Former high school football All City champion football players with the position of right tackle do not make good security guards.
I'm a fan of the 48 laws of power by by Robert Greene and Joost Elffers. Although not directly related to the technical aspects it has simple to understand tidbits on gaining and exerting power in a social setting.
Also If you expand the scope of your search to dealing with coercion and persuasion in interpersonal communication you may have some more success.
Absolutely. There's lots of human behaviour reading this requires. because there's no one book, that can give you the framework. So, I pretty much have to build my own framework.
