Ok, San Antonio was promised a FRY's store about 3 years ago and it never happened. However in the last few months information has come out that FRY's will begin building at the new shopping center on I-10. I was under the impression taht Frys was going to be in the "The Rim" shopping center across from Fiesta Texas, and was supposed to be part of "Phase 2". Which they seemed to have just started.
However I just read that another shopping center is on its way,
The Rim being on the NorthEast corner of I-10 & 1604.
Lacantera being on the NorthWest corner of I-10 & 1604.
Now a place called "Regal Hills" is being built on the Southeast corner of the same interchange.
Hopefully a Frys included, hopefully before Black Friday 2007.
Its bad enough the nearest one is 90 miles away, but one of the few electronics components stores we did have has up and disappeared. I have no idea what happened to ATex electronics, not Altex, we had a store called ATex, they moved from Gulfdale to Broadway a while back and recently I drove over to Broadway and the store front was bare and they were gone.
