Nerdcore for marketing

AXO Soft has started a Viral Video contest for people to come up with YouTube videos and songs based off NerdCore. They have two songs already, what are your thoughts on this type of marketing from a company?

NOTE: I'm not trying to promote this company, didn't even know what they did until this link was passed to me. Just found it interesting with the NerdCore disscussions we've been having around here.

I think it's a bit sad to see nerdcore being capitalized in such a way. (To my knowledge, a company has never explicitly used nerdcore for marketing purposes) Then again, it seems like a rather small site, and I doubt the genre itself will spread as a result of this outside the typical community. I thought the video was pretty cool. :)
