    Guitar Hero is returning to DC16!

    We're gearing up for the 2nd Annual Guitar Hero contest at Defcon. With Guitar Hero III out, we have all kinds of ideas for new portions of the contest. More battle modes and face-offs!

          Hmmmmm... "Personal controller"? Knowing you and hardware, it begs the question:

          Did you hack the Gibson?

          Or more precisely, did you hack the Gibson-like controller?

              well, certainly the best one i've heard in a while. and a kickass idea that i've love to see happen.

                      As it was last year, it'll be on the 360 this year.

                      If you want to lug your own controller out, that'll work for me! Maybe some extra pts for a modified controller....hmmm.....

                          If I remember correctly from last year, the contest were for songs set on medium. Will that be the same this year or can we expect to face the challenge of doing a little dragonforce on expert?

                              Last year there were Medium, Hard and Expert contests. This year there will also be Medium, Hard and Expert according to the rules page:

                                  Any more info on the "Awesome Random Song Picker" system? Are we talking contestants just rolling some d20's or is there some complex super secret algorithm behind it?

                                              The random song picker is basically a perl script that reads in the songs and randomly picks one...I've done some testing with it, and the distribution of songs (after about 10,000 runs) is very close to even...it just makes it easier, and more fair then me trying to pick what song you need to fail at :)

                                              Still finalizing the schedule and rules (what happens in XYZ scenario, etc...), but the site is pretty close to done...
