I have a quad band unlocked phone that i use.. it works in pretty much all GSM coverage areas that i've been in..

In a lot of places around the world you can walk into a 7-11 type store and buy a pay as you go sim card... Often you don't need to show any ID.. In england you do actually but China you did not... india you had to show ID, but could bribe your way around that ($5 USD) if you have privacy concerns..

I just find that amazing, 2 people separated by a great distance thinking the same thing within a minute of each other.

Does anyone know of a services where i could order pay as you go GSM SIM cards for Vegas? I obviously don't want to pay roaming charges while I'm there..

go to TMobile store.

buy their prepaid SIM thing - or get it with a dirt cheap phone that you use whilst in the US.

if you put on $100 or so, you get classed as 'gold' and the number doesn't expire for 1 year assuming you put another $5 on it before the end of that year.

I've got one, it works fine in my unlocked UK phone(s). +1 206... :)
