The IRS has a clarification message up on their website. Even if you did direct deposit:

In other words, if you used Turbo Tax (or some other online option) and did direct deposit, you won't get your rebate by direct deposit if you paid for Turbo Tax out of your refund. So, instead of getting your refund last week, you get it...next month. That sucks!

Good thing I have people who do my taxes.

How exactly is it a "loan from another country"? Who is the other country?

That being said, loans are well-known methods of stimulating the economy, even at the expense of increasing debt. On a very large scale, the Marshall Plan is a good example (admitting that not all of the loans were repaid) as the U.S. almost singlehandedly rebuilt European economies in just a few years.

Most of said moneys are from Chinese loans, not all but the largest percentage.

Wasn't there some headline on the front page of USA Today that said something like "USA is in more deficit than originally thought" or something? (5/19/8)

I got my $300...really confused now, thinking I was going to get $600. Gonna research the BS out now.

You can always use the Economic Stimulus calculator.

Additionally, there was a story in the news about how people with kids, expecting the $300/child bonus may have to wait for a second check. (Probably doesn't apply to you though -- unless there's something you've been hiding from us.)

... it's partly based on your tax liability. If your 2007 net income tax liability is at least $1 but less than $300 (or $600 per couple), you would generally get the minimum stimulus check of $300 (or $600).

According to the IRS, if you haven't filed before, but you're filing just for the stimulus check, you can expect $300 dollars.

Summary: if you didn't make enough, or made more than "too much" then your rebate may be less than $600.

1. Batboy is my hero.

2. My friend Elijah said that "the government probably thought I wasn't going to stimulate the economy anyway" so that's why they only sent $300. I just figured its cuz I'm on "financial probation" at my college cuz I have over 60 credits and have never graduated. (Apparently my being on the Dean's List isn't enough.)

3. Batboy would kick Dubua and Elvis' ass.

i would much rather get an un-forwarned check for more money, then a letter saying i would be getting one...(the paper, and postage for all the letters send was worth some big number.. i forgot...)

not that i got a letter...
