genesiswave mentioned Gotcha....classic! Love that movie!
For one, I'll lug my cooler down with cold refreshment, but one of those popcorn carts would be stellar!

Was just thinking of this film as I was reading this thread. Great example of what surveillance tech was back in the early 70's.Leave a comment:

Re: Movie Night with Dark Tangent forum added...
Any idea what time the movie night is set to begin on Friday?
(i.e. what time the showing of Hackers Are People Too will be?)
(i.e. what time I have to stop being nervous and freaking out by? gah!)Leave a comment:

Re: Movie Night with Dark Tangent forum added...
looks sort of interesting. kind of like a movie about drugs, really... the people who really suck at understanding how to properly integrate this activity into their life wind up becoming losers or wasteoids while those who can properly integrate this into the rest of their routine can meet good folks with the same interests and can become better people overall.
heh, not to mention the whole parallel about how both drugs and gaming can serve as an opiate that will mollify your concerns about having a useless life in a boring, dead-end job. whether or not that's a good thing can be debated both ways.

I just recently watched Cloak and Dagger for the first time in many years. I filed it into the "not nearly as cool as I remember it as a kid" movie.

There is always The Conversation better known as the prequel for Enemy of the State.
Mind you there's always the cheesy 3000 Miles to Graceland, but epic for its over-the-top gunbattle on the casino floor of the Riviera.Leave a comment:

If by cheesy, you mean inspirational, feel-good classics that tell kids that even growing up in a trailer park can't stop you from flying a CGI Gunstar and destroying 99.9% of the Kodan Armada (Xur escaped after all)...then I agree. :-P
Oh, and if you show LSF, you gotta do a showing of Buckaroo Banzai. You can borrow one of my 3 original VHS copies or the DVD re-issue (with the production stills of Jamie Lee Curtis as Buckaroo's Mom). Never got my hands on the Laserdisc version. :)Leave a comment:

Well, going *back* ~10 years from WarGames is the excellent Gene Hackman film, The Conversation.Leave a comment:

Oh. You are looking for cheesy films, are you? What about The Last Starfighter?
Uh oh. I see AlxRogan. Quick! hide me!
Sure, I liked these films, and I'll watch them on occasion. My question is only about the age of the movies and the target audience.
If we assume that around every 10 years, there is a film like WarGames, or Sneakers, then what such film exists from 2000 to 2008? Are there any?Leave a comment:
