Re: Taking the amateur radio license exams?
If you have any interest, please vote in the poll so we can gage interest in the exams. Also, if you're planning on taking more than one exam, make sure you vote for each!"\x74\x68\x65\x70\x72\x65\x7a\x39\x38"; -

Re: Taking the amateur radio license exams?
Yes, you do have to take the exams in order. Generally, you should wait to start the next one until you know for sure you passed the previous one; although it is not required. You could potentially take all three in order and go from no license to Extra in one day."\x74\x68\x65\x70\x72\x65\x7a\x39\x38";Comment

Re: Taking the amateur radio license exams?
I suggest you take a look at the question pools first. These are avalible online for free.
http://www.arrl.org/arrlvec/pools.html
Some people have a photographic memory. The time required to read through the pools is approx 2 1/2 hrs for Tech, 3 for General and 5 for Extra. Could be a good way to kill time on the way in.
Please note that the Extra class pool changed July 1st 2008 if you order study material.
Also note when taking a practice exam on QRZ.com that there are different test numbers that have to be changed manually. People that have memorized and gotten 100% on test 1 only get about 40% correct on an actual exam.Comment

Re: Taking the amateur radio license exams?
Which VEC are you using? I'm an Extra and VE'd with ARRL if you can use my help. I'll be hanging out in the HHV most of the weekend, I suspect. If I'm available at noon, I'll be happy to be there.
