  • MHS GrendelVan

Since this is my pet project, and they were kind enough to add a forum section, I figured I should be the first to post. I would encourage everyone to swing by Sunday and listen to the presentation on the Colorado Springs Mobile Hacker Space - hopefully it will inspire others to replicate the project, or at least begin to see other possibilities for hacker spaces. If you cannot catch the speech, I'll be giving presentations at the van a couple hours every day - you can come by and peek inside and ask any questions then, or here on the board. The presentations at the van will not replicate the Sunday speech, so hopefully you'll plan on doing both.

It's something I'm really excited about, so be prepared to have your ear talked off if you ask me about it. Looking forward to this year's DefCon!!

    Hey Grendel,

I'm a fellow spings hacker wannabe. Look forward to seeing you at the con, we should meet up in town also. I work just north of you on 83, so maybe I can buy you a drink.

    Take care

The GrendelVan made it into Vegas successfully! For those who want to take a look at it outside of DefCon, I'll be bringing it by the Toxic BBQ - if I can get it close enough, there will be open wifi available, so people can bring their addictions and check that ever-important twitter chat. >;-)

Bonus points if it looks like the A-Team van.

We need to scrounge up some money and get the inconspicuous utilities signage for the sides and back.

I actually had a starving artist (spray)paint the van - I gave him a few ideas and let him run with whatever struck his fancy... it looked like crap on the outside (you'll see the pictures at the speech / on the disk within my slides) before... so bad my wife wouldn't step foot in it (she originally called it a "hunk-a-junk"). Looks much better now. Can't miss it though; stands out from the crowd.
