So... i'm not to the point of being super-huge worried just yet... but a small concern is brewing for me regarding things with the range. Jared is really on the ball, and he and i have gone back and forth on the planning of this event (via phone and email) numerous times.

However, it seems like his staff at the range doesn't have a whole lot of clue. They do not know about our event, they do not know what the plan is, they keep asking me the same questions over and over when i call them (what we're shooting, who we are, etc)

I'm supposed to be paying them in full for our event today. I've called a few times and keep trying to do so, but the person on the other end (someone named "Ellen") keeps saying that i should talk to Jared first. It's like... if it's not on her computer screen, she thinks something doesn't exist.

Jared is out of town until Monday. He's not answering his cel phone right now. I've left messages and hope and pray to hear from him, but at the moment i have no useful information.

This is exactly why i am paying for all of us up front out of pocket and didn't ask anyone for PayPal or such beforehand. The last thing i'd want to contend with would be refunds to everyone if this fucks up.

But no thinking like that... not yet, anyway. My fears aren't super huge right now. If i don't hear from Jared on Monday morning i will be concerned.

Seriously, this would suck. But you have several days still before the shoot. I know you're tied up at least part of the time but hopefully everything pans out.

the only thing that concerns me is our payment. Jared wanted me to pay in full five days in advance. that is today. i tried to do that today, but ellen wouldn't accept anything right now since we're "not in the system"

we shall see what's what on monday.

Deviant - I am also greatful for all the time and effort you have expended on our behalf in setting this up, especially in light of your over booked schedule. Now to find that you are fronting this out of your own pocket just to make sure it happens is certainly "over and above" .. if it was the military man we'd give you a medal to pin on your chest.

I'm bringing a tripod and several pieces of equipment that aren't long for this world. I don't have a decent video camera though.

Just reconfirming. I will be attending and will be filling in as RSO as needed. I'm bringing some NFA goodies out with me as well. I'd recommend bringing some extra .22 and 2 3/4" #7 12ga ammo. Just sayin'

I've spent all day cleaning guns and loading ammo!

Wow... i had a whole post all typed up just now about how worried i was etc etc etc but it looks like i won't be needing that. i just got off with Jared and we're all good.

he was on a boat for the past week and a half so that's why he was totally out of touch. we are going to be ok, and all money matters are taken care of. remember, it's CASH up front to me when we rally just after 6:00 AM at the Riv the morning of the 7th. We roll out at 6:30.

If you haven't coordinated a ride, now would be a really good time to poke at one another. If someone is up for a 15-passenger van rental i'm betting they could make a really really economical endeavor out of it.

Thank you to everyone who was supportive and encouraging when we were floundering in the dark for a while. I still have your give-away items and the prizes for those little mini-contests. PM me or post here if you have more questions.
