Some rocket scientist tried to get into my Pelican case full of guns. Obviously not seeing the two padlocks on the case. They did, however, pop open all 4 latches.

I got back without any delays, which I am happy about. Although I really enjoyed con this year, I was more than ready to be back home again.

It was so great to come back to Canada. The border guard was so much fun. When asked if I had any food with me I said that I had peanut butter and nutella. He said that officially I am not supposed to bring it back into Canada after bring it to America with me. When I said that I'd more than happily hand the stuff over he replied, "Whatever, keep it. Just look out for any rogue peanuts." ;)

Con felt really different this year. Neither a bad different or a good different, just different. I had a few conversations that really seemed to stick with me and that I'll probably be thinking about during the rest of the year.

Still not home - I got stuck at JFK for at least 12 hours while they canceled every flight 5 by 5 to keep the re-ticketing lines medium-sized, with the lies "bad weather", so I just decided to hop a train to DC for the week instead..

yeah, I was in transit for 16+ hours thanks to JFK's stupid "metering".
Apparently they don't like sunshine, which I can understand personally; canceling flights because of it however, not so much.

I've come to realize that I hate every airport I've ever been in with the exception of SEA and ROC (the latter of which is home, so probably doesn't count).

after being delayed for four hours, flying into another airport and reaching a giant cage which we had to wait for lazy airport cops to open, then waiting for nonexistant people to give us our bags, then trying to get a cab at an airport at four in the morning, then driving back home and collapsing in a coma at 7am, I am happy to be back.
great week, crappy trip home. nothing broken in transit though.

just got back at midnight last night (EDT). Had to be at work at 8am, brain still reeling. At least my most challenging tasks for the day are repartitioning a HD and installing OSX server! :D

Thank God I'm home! I needed a vacation from my vacation.

The only complaint I had about the trip home was the fact that for the 3rd time in a row, I had a center seat between two large people. The end result is: I only get 1/2 a seat! I really remember paying for a WHOLE seat, but apparently, I was mistaken. Why can't I get two sexy men ... hell, even a cute chic would work.. heh
