    Obligatory loot thread

    What'd you get for Christmas?

I wasn't expecting anything at all... and my mom ended up getting me a Nintendo DS. That was an awesome surprise.

I got a large chuck of coal wrapped in cash (sigh). It means we don't understand you or your computer stuff so go buy what you want.

Infosec/compsci books galore thanks the 'ol Amazon wishlist. Without that I'd get the same cash wrapped chunk of coal. Maybe now I'll finally get caught on up my reading....

I got a $25 gift certificate and a $50 gift certificate for Amazon. For true meaning, see above.

Every year i put ammo on my wish list, and every year no one buys it for me. This year... two separate people did!

In fact, i'll likely have to update the hell outta that list, because a lot of the items there were acquired. I honestly didn't think i'd get the Emerson knife... but maybe i'll just treat myself to that on my birthday. I have to say that overall this holiday was a friggin' amazing one... especially since basically every single gift anyone gave that wasn't on someone's list appeared to have still been well thought-out and really spectacular.

Heh, and my gift-wrapping skills were praised by so many people that I would swear I was gay if it weren't for the whole "loving all women and finding buttsecks unappealing" thing.

"I'll admit I had an OiNK account and frequented it quite often… What made OiNK a great place was that it was like the world's greatest record store… iTunes kind of feels like Sam Goody to me. I don't feel cool when I go there. I'm tired of seeing John Mayer's face pop up. I feel like I'm being hustled when I visit there, and I don't think their product is that great. DRM, low bit rate, etc... OiNK it existed because it filled a void of what people want."

Got a table saw, not one of the "contractor" grade, but one step below an actual stationary type, and an Epson photo printer that will also print on a cd.

I was easy on what I wanted, another pair of walking shoes, my nephews thought otherwise and mailed Santa that I should get a Playstation Portable so I'd stop playing with theirs when I visited them. I'm actually impressed that you can use Skype on this.

I got a tom tom GPS and then the typical clothes and whatnot. I got some cash for "that computer thing you said you wanted to go to in Vegas in July" as well.

My jobless sibling managed to scrounge up an NES, SNES, and Genesis for me. Those, a digital camera, and various DVDs were the bulk of my loot. Clothes and jewelry came in second.

To further geekify my office and keep the normals out, my sister got me one of these for Christmas:

                              http://www.thinkgeek.com/homeoffice/lights/7437/

It goes nicely with my borg light, and binary clock.

Now I just need to get 30 of these: http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/science/ae39/ to decorate one of the other walls.

I also got a new Fox/Hound set and some other tools. Typical clothing gifts as well.
