a good car to learn: on go buy a cheap geo/chevy metro or prism low cost and cheap to fix and it is realitivly hard to burn a clutch on one (my last one lasted 120,000 miles)(the one on our porsche lasts about 45,000 under heavy use) unless you shouldn't be driving.
I've taught several friends to drive stick on those very same cars and the hp on them isn't enoght that they can get into to much trouble if they do get going.
another good stick to teach with/learn on is a ford escort newer ones are better as they hold some of the tension as the age.
