Will you be interested in purchasing a HHV kit?

I am trying to determine how many people are interested in purchasing a HHV kit this year-

The est. price point will be $50.00.

I voted "Heck Yes" only due to the lack of a "Fuck Yes" option. Last year I missed out and had to jury rig components from cannibalized electronics found throughout Las Vegas. And as we all know, last minute runs to Fry's can be harsh during con.

I certainly would, hopefully it will be the thing that really gets me into hardware hacking instead of software hacking all the time!

Will the kit be simular to last years Basic Stamp Kit? Having a DEFCON labeled BS kit was great!!

Just curious, how many people wanted to buy a kit last year and didn't get one because we sold out?

The kits this year will get you into several things-

SMT soldering
Schematic reading
through hole soldering
ASM (if you want to)
embedded design
parallel processing
hot chicks pants

We will have auxiliary parts for sale in the vendor area as well, at MUCH cheaper prices than you can get anywhere else (including online)- our aux parts could also be used for badge hacks (hint hint)-

Heck yeah!

I got the basic stamp one last year, and learnt a lot! I really enjoyed it.

I live in West Africa, and i have not been able to source kits locally, so defcon is my chance to stock up on these sorts of things,

so i will be inline to get my hands on these and anything else that will interest me(auxiliary parts)

should of seen how many "local" soldering irons i went through until i bit the bullet and purchased one from overseas(1month wait for shipping....) with the last HHV kit.
I really did learn a lot. so bring it on!

I think everyone will be amazed at the capabilities of this year's kit.

I also have about 300 give-aways that are keychains to help you learn SMT soldering. I may include the keychains with the first 100 kits sold or something, haven't decided yet.

I purchased both kits last year and they were very cool. They both helped me get more into hardware hacking than I was when I arrived.

I hoped you would do the same again this year. So you will be getting some money from me again.

There will be two 'add-on' kits available.

One will be $20.

One will be $40.

Both are a good deal on the hardware you get.

We will be conducting tutorials based on the kits this year in the HHV.

Topics will include:

* How to drive a servo
* How to generate video (TV signal)
* How to generate video (VGA, out to a monitor)
* Multiprocessing (screw you interrupts!)
* Keyboard input
* Mouse input

We will also be able to take requests...

If the above information doesn't give quite a bit away, I don't know what will.... ;)

WOW... thanks for posting this Lost. This is a great "hint" on what should be expected. I think I am going to order some additional hardware for the con.
