Formal 3 piece suits are required at all Defcon events. If you do not have a tie, the doorman will provide you one.

Alternately, you could search for pictures of previous Defcons and see for yourself.

God's mercy on you if you show up without a top hat..

A well-fitted Tuxedo is the way to go.

See if you can pick out the DEFCON attendees in this photo.

                Clothing has been cancelled
If a chicken and a half, can lay an egg and a half, in a day and a half... how long would it take a monkey, with a wooden leg, to kick the seeds out of a dill pickle?

Attire such as this is also acceptable, in certain conditions.

Are you signed up for a contest, signed up to give a talk, pregnant, or may become pregnant?
                  It's not stupid, it's advanced.

Fursuits are acceptable attire as well, especially since Comic-Con just wrapped up.

Will monocle cleaning and walking stick resizing be available on site?
A third party security audit is the IT equivalent of a colonoscopy. It's long, intrusive, very uncomfortable, and when it's done, you'll have seen things you really didn't want to see, and you'll never forget that you've had one.

I might apply for a vendor booth for exactly that purpose next year...

I think it's a great idea. Think of the press that Defcon would get with 6000 computer geeks dressed like Mr. Peanut.
