  • DEF CON 17 Content Links

OK, post links to content, filler, picture archives, etc.

Post links, comments about talks, and follow up. No general conversation, just stuff relating to DC 17. The idea is you come here and find links to content.

I'll start with a simple one:

DEF CON 17 .nrg Nero image of the DEF CON 17 CD as given out to attendees:
    https://media.defcon.org/dc-17/DEFCON-17-CD.rar

This image will eventually be regenerated in version 1.1 and include all updated presentations.

I've got a test p2p server set up, and am downloading and re-seeding the defcon filler torrent. Once I get more content sorted out it will all go on the eMule network as well.

I'll make a more formal announcement once it is 100%!

Re: DEF CON 17 Content Links

I've finally gotten both Black Hat 2009 and DEFCON 17 sections added to my own photos page.

There's also the video of the Beer Cooling Contest this year.

There's another video and music montage i put together, this one being the DEFCON Shoot footage from this summer.

In general, lots of smaller videos from the con pop up on my YouTube channel. the really recent stuff is from HAR and other scenes around Holland, but just below that are loads of clips from DEFCON this past month. (then if you scroll further down, it even goes as far back as DEFCON last year.)

Thanks to all who keep seeding and hyping the Filler archive. I'll keep adding to it and maintaining it as long as folk enjoy it.

OK, I've got all the DJ Video Liquid8tor had recorded. I've renamed them and will do some minor editing and start uploading them. I'm looking for a good tool that will strip the audio out of an .m4v/mp4 video file and save it as a .wav, .aac, etc. That way I can also release the audio from the videos.

When done I'll post the links here!

            From DDTEK

Complete packet captures and binaries for DC17 CTF are now available via bittorrent. See the announcement here: http://www.ddtek.biz/

            m@rs

            --------------------

            http://www.ddtek.biz/ctf_dc17_packets.tbz.torrent
            http://www.ddtek.biz/ctf_dc17_binaries.zip.torrent

DEFCON is seeding this content also, and will be uploading it to our media server as well! Thanks DDTEK Crue.

Now available on the DEFCON media server:

            https://media.defcon.org/dc-17/DEFCO...et capture.rar

The long file name is to make it more identifiable on p2p and related servers.

FYI, most if not all people on the forums speak English; you might have trouble otherwise if you assume people speak Spanish.

I think in general users tend to be very forgiving of other users whose first language is not English, if they try.

(For reference, "The official language on this board is English.")

I recorded one of the two known videos of the whole goon band performance along with about 20 minutes of warm-up, but I will not publish it. A copy has been given at least one of the goons in the goon band, and they showed it to at least one other band members. It is up to the band members to decide if they want to publish their own content. That is how I roll. :-)

I'm not sure, but I think the other person that took video of the full goon band is working under the same system with control to publish given to the actual band members. I believe he also gave a copy to at least one goon band member, and they have it, too.

In addition to the two people that took video of the full goon band, some people did take video with their VideoCamera-enabled phones. If any video of the goon band surfaces, I'd bet it would be from the phones with really bad sound and video.

I did put up a few still images of the goon band up on pics.defcon.org.

                      Hope this helps! :-)

Someone let me know when it pops up and I'll gladly help seed it again.

Re: DEF CON 17 Content Links

I've re-worked and re-updated the content (some great new things in there, like the "8 Bit Trip" and "Sad Kermit" music videos) and the new torrent is here...

... the pirate bay is still the tracker used, if anyone knows of a better and more reliable public tracker i'll be happy to switch to that in the future. for now the seeds and DHT network will likely populate things out to other trackers automatically anyway so it should be fine this time.

i'm the only seed right now, but if people grab the torrent and point to their old archive, 99% of the files will match up and you'll be able to see most of it right away.

[EDIT: as always, i run uTorrent with forced crypto and no legacy support. if you wish to download, be sure to have a client that supports encryption. at the moment, the pool consists of just one guy from Sweden.]
