OK... I know this has been mentioned in at least one thread, but damned if I can find it. Man I hate this BB system. Usenet kicks so much more ass.

In any case, I thought we'd start a thread specifically about netmeets. I'm all for it, as I love meeting new folks and talking shop over some tasty alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

I know in a previous thread I dropped the amount of money budgeted for this con. I may not be destitute, but I'm far from rich. Sure as *hell* is BYOB. ;)

Of course, this doesn't mean that if I have a bottle of jack you grey goose I wouldn't mind trading bottles for a quick nip.

Heck I got socks old enough to drink. I'm rather surprised anyone buys alcohol at the hotel (other than the bar) considering what they charge!

I don't. I usually stock up at the corner store like everyone else. Last year I bought too much (!), but even that got used during the "let's toss (plastic) bottles of alcohol around in pool 2. Whoever is closest takes a drink".

Nothing better after a long day of attending talks (especially in that hot tent on the roof. Egads... that really sucked) then to relax by the pool with a pack of smokes, a nice cold beverage watching people having fun. I, unfortunately, did not partake. I just don't have much of an alcohol tolerance. I just can't drink like I did when I was freshman those many years ago. :)
