Someone had mentioned tables previously, If I were to buy one or two tables, would anyone in the Vegas area be able to store a couple of folding tables for future use?

    Folding Table from WalMart

    just for an idea.

That said, I'm picking up about 40ish zombie targets and having them shipped there too.

List I am bringing: One Case that will include
Maverick 88 Pump Action with 18" barrel and 27" barrel
    Walther P22
For the 12 gauge I'll be bringing
    Inciendary Ammo
    Dragons Breath

and probably about 100 round of federal Target Loads

I will also be shipping about 1000 rounds of .22 ammo (its cheap). I will probably be picking up a field cleaning kit here in the next couple of weeks as well.

As far as tables, I'll have the bead of the pickup, so if anyone can get the Riv to loan a few out we can throw them in there.

Let me know if anyone needs anything else.
There is a UPS Customer Center right next to McCarran, I'm probably going to see about having it shipped there and just pick it up on the way to the hotel.

    Best rules ever!

In an effort to not totally Hijack the thread, from those that have gone in the past that aren't driving, what are ammo suggestions? Shipping ammo ORM-D isn't horribly painful (On a scale of 1 to GTFO will the Riv would accept the package?). I noticed someone mentioning a Vegas resident doing a scouting mission at local gun shops for ammo pricing before the event.

for anyone curious about this... Firm Warez has been speaking to me about the shoot for some time now, and i tend to think he is legit. i'm really excited about the possibility of getting to just see and maybe handle some of this really terrific gear.

firing it may be a longer shot, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

i want to thank everyone who is planning on coming out again, etc. i'll probably be finalizing some T-Shirt matters when i get back from AusCERT so we can start getting a rouch head count and coordinating sizes, etc. towards the end of May.

Re: DEFCON 18 Shoot information thread

I feel like a kid waiting for x-mas. My first Defcon was 3; but I've never been able to make one of the shoots. It's a full go for me this year; I will not miss it. I'm going to be overlanding in my old Range Rover from confederate territory. I may or may not have additional personnel with me, but depending on that will be open to hauling people/gear/targets of opportunity.

At a minimum I'll be be bringing:
Uzi "short barrel rifle" with Gemtech Mossad II can (9mm)
At least one AR, possibly more in various configurations, with interesting accessories (5.56mm and mm)
Vz-61 Skorpion (mine shoots AND ejects .32 ACP, instead of ejecting 5.56mm like that famous pair in the lobby)
    CZ-75 (9mm, pre-B import, thank you Rally)
Probably a Sterling Mk7 pistol (9mm, it goes well with the old Land Rover)

I might be tempted to bring some 7.62mm stuff, maybe an FAL..._maybe_ my Browning but that home-boy is heavy.

From my research tracers are kosher in NV. Also I'm a volunteer firefighter (serious thrill issues) and will have my trauma kit. I've been medical back-up at other shooting events, and will be happy to volunteer for such a semi-official position if needed.

On sharing: I'm one of those guys who likes to see people experience new guns, but that said ammo is expensive...so I might be somewhere between friendly and stingy. Safety is paramount, and I tend not to let unsafe d00ds handle my guns. I'm very keen on sharing/teaching our friends from overseas who can only dream of owning the hardware we can in the US...hmmm, that might apply to our brothers and sisters in occupied California as well! Cute chicks get first dibs, even more so cute chicks that might think my wife is cute or something like that...have to have my priorities straight!

I'm really looking forward to this, it'll be great meeting you guys.

First and foremost, last years shoot was awesome and i had a great time.

Second, i saw someone earlier mention the desire for some long range action. I am also interested in some +500 yard targets and i did see someone at the end of the shoot head up to one of those mounds that is next to the parking area. It looked like a perfect spot to setup and that area could operate separate from the short range. Here is the overhead view of what i am describing.

I didnt go up to the top of those mounds so i am not sure if they are 100% safe but maybe someone else on here has some input.

in recent years at DEFCON and ShmooCon we've done a thing whereby instead of going out for sushi, people order in (or go pick it up) and all just hang out somewhere together. we can do that again this year if people wish, perhaps.[/QUOTE]

Awesome... sushi and shooting... I'm hanging out for it already. :)

Just got confirmation on the pickup provided there are no major mechanical failures just before con. I'll also be bringing at least one 6' folding table and an array of targets/backings. I'll have 2 extra seats, however the truck isn't extended cab, so it'll be a pretty tight fit back there. If you think you can fit in the back seat of a 2000 Ford Ranger, and will need a ride, let me know.

mid sized SUV is now a 4 door pickup :)

That's where you come in. The gift of laughter needs to be brought to all. Won't someone please think of the children?! Seriously though, don't try to steal their table on the way through... they're liable to get really pissy about that... However, if you happen to catch someone looking for petition signers at the airport once in NV.....
