I rented an SUV, so rides are offered, price.... a cup of coffee. Budget by the way seems to have the best rental rates on large people/gear hauling vehicles. Hertz is the most convenient, pick up at the airport, and you can leave it at the Riv as they have an office there. Saves you an extra trip to the airport Friday during the con.

You don't really need an SUV to get to the last site. I drove a rental minivan and it worked fine. Road is paved most of the way, and good condition dirt in the parking lot. (Rain and mud would change this, however.)

I drove a fully loaded mid-size there last time, and that was fine. SUV is just to max out on people and gear.

Would a full size car make it, assuming the road isn't too molested by weather?

Oh and, hello, this will be my first defcon shoot.

I'm looking to bring the following:
Mosin M91/30 (7.62x54R)
Mossberg 500 Roadblocker (12ga)
Beretta Px4 Storm (.40 S&W)
PSL-54C (possible) (7.62x54R)
AR-15 (5.56/.223)

I'm more than happy to share with the obvious non-asshat caveat. If you want more than a couple of rounds on them, please bring ammo

xor, can I pre-book two seats in your SUV? I may or may not rent a vehicle coming out but want to be certain of a ride to the shoot. Standard coffee payments, of course

Still not 100% on logistics for myself. If I do end up needing a lift, I'll post when I know and it'd likely be myself and a double rifle case + ammo can. I am prepared to offer compensation in the forms of caffeine, gas fund contributions, ammo (if I have any you need/want), and alcohol (after the shoot for obvious reasons). My better half has forbidden me from offering sexual favors as compensation for anything at con... Sorry, xor

Okay, tentative update for myself. Looks like I will have a ride and/or be driving. Not final on the vehicle, however. It's between a Kia sedan and a pickup. If it ends up being the pickup, I'll be able to assist in gear hauling and maybe fit 1 or 2 (tightly) in the back seat. Hoping to have a final verdict by the time we start a logistics thread.

After reading this again, I thought I would clarify... This does not mean I'll haul your firearms if I'm not giving you a ride to the site. I'd be more than happy to help haul targets, tables, chairs, etc. but unless you're in my vehicle, neither are your weapons.

I have also reserved an midsize SUV for the event. All seats are open except the driver at the moment. If nobody rides with me I'll have room to assist with gear as well (same stipulations as above). And if nothing else I'll make a run to the store for kegs for after the shoot :)

Speaking of space and gear... this year i really hope we can try to wrangle up a lot more tables. Even if we're just talking about rip-cut pieces of 4x8 plywood on top of milk crates or waiter's tray stands, that would be a huge help to all involved.

I should be able to bring up a six foot banquet table or 2 and maybe a few metal folding chairs. Will confirm when we get closer.

won't be able to attend this year again due to my flight not landing early enough on thursday morning, but i hope everyone has a blast!
