Re: DEFCON 18 Shoot information thread
Defcon board getting busy? It must be almost May. ;)
I'll be getting to the Riv on Wednesday night with a rental car, so I can take two-three people with me to the shoot.
Are people interested in doing dinner the night before or something similar?

Don't think the TSA will allow me on the plane with a folding table

Re: DEFCON 18 Shoot information thread
I should be able to bring up a six foot banquet table or 2 and maybe a few metal folding chairs. Will confirm when we get closer.Leave a comment:

Re: DEFCON 18 Shoot information thread
Speaking of space and gear... this year i really hope we can try to wrangle up a lot more tables. Even if we're just talking about rip-cut pieces of 4x8 plywood on top of milk crates or waiter's tray stands, that would be a huge help to all involved.Leave a comment:

Re: DEFCON 18 Shoot information thread
I have also reserved an midsize SUV for the event. All seats are open except the driver at the moment. If nobody rides with me I'll have room to assist with gear as well (same stipulations as above). And if nothing else I'll make a run to the store for kegs for after the shoot :)Leave a comment:

Re: DEFCON 18 Shoot information thread
Okay, tentative update for myself. Looks like I will have a ride and/or be driving. Not final on the vehicle, however. It's between a Kia sedan and a pickup. If it ends up being the pickup, I'll be able to assist in gear hauling and maybe fit 1 or 2 (tightly) in the back seat. Hoping to have a final verdict by the time we start a logistics thread.
EDIT:
After reading this again, I thought I would clarify... This does not mean I'll haul your firearms if I'm not giving you a ride to the site. I'd be more than happy to help haul targets, tables, chairs, etc. but unless you're in my vehicle, neither are your weapons.Leave a comment:

Re: DEFCON 18 Shoot information thread
ROFL, OK we will make an exception in your caseStill not 100% on logistics for myself. If I do end up needing a lift, I'll post when I know and it'd likely be myself and a double rifle case + ammo can. I am prepared to offer compensation in the forms of caffeine, gas fund contributions, ammo (if I have any you need/want), and alcohol (after the shoot for obvious reasons). My better half has forbidden me from offering sexual favors as compensation for anything at con... Sorry, xor

Re: DEFCON 18 Shoot information thread
Would a full size car make it, assuming the road isn't too molested by weather?
Oh and, hello, this will be my first defcon shoot.
I'm looking to bring the following:
Mosin M91/30 (7.62x54R)
Mossberg 500 Roadblocker (12ga)
Beretta Px4 Storm (.40 S&W)
PSL-54C (possible) (7.62x54R)
AR-15 (5.56/.223)
I'm more than happy to share with the obvious non-asshat caveat. If you want more than a couple of rounds on them, please bring ammoLast edited by Picch; April 23, 2010, 15:42.Leave a comment:

Re: DEFCON 18 Shoot information thread
I drove a fully loaded mid-size there last time, and that was fine. SUV is just to max out on people and gear.
