    Re: Defcon Daily Carry

Its all Astcell's fault, Back in 2008 Astcell spoiled me on some really nice, mission specific tactical gear, the construction was bulletproof, the zippers were like nothing I've seen before, so I made it a point to find the original manufacturer for something else 'that works'

    This really works!
    http://preview.tinyurl.com/2f4q78k

While originally designed as a medical bag for special operations teams, From my chats with other users I understand its being used for lots of other duties, but it fits perfectly an 8.9 notebook and all its gear, and most everything else you'd want to pack along. If you look around online, you can find these a little cheaper than the above link.

    As for my Defcon EDC...

    Above-mentioned Tactical Bag
    Android Phone
    Business cards
    InfoSec News Propaganda
    Notepad
    Thumbdrives
    Lockpicks
    Cliff Bars
    TBA...

I learned last year really quickly that a rolling bag is NOT the way to go.

My new murse -- err bag -- came in yesterday. I ended up snagging a Timbuk2 Netbook Messenger off Amazon with Prime. On Amazon it comes in one color: black. The map bags looked sweet, but I've never had much luck with over the shoulder stuff. This one's more like a backpack than a messenger bag, and there's a padded & covered slot for the iPad/netbook/Kindle.

    Smartphone
    Badge tied to belt loops
    Wallet
    Gum

Who needs anything else? Notes can be taken in the phone, internet access too, the rest in pockets. Makes for an easy con. :) I did the whole laptop lugging thing for a few years, that got real tired real quick.

You are not annoying anyone, it's not like I or anyone else has to read the thread. Someone has to post in /dev/random, might as well be you. :-)

No problem for me on this, but thanks for offering an apology anyway. /dev/random is fine for content like that. I replied with an answer so other people encountering the same problem can follow the thread described.

Where are my manners? Oh, yeah. In the next cup of coffee.

    Thanks for the quick response.

    2. Lock picks
    3. Beer
    4. Daily agenda
