There wasn't a whole lot of targets for a shotgun to shoot at last year... I didn't see anyone throwing clays.

Might want to bring a box of slugs.

Myself and 2 others stayed after the shoot for maybe an hour for shotgun shooting. Walmart was out of clays, so we had a box of eggs. They actually worked out really well, and were a lot of fun.

I plan on going to the shoot, so when is the information going to be posted? Not thrilled about the fee, but everything changes and I will go with the flow.

All the other shoots I regularly attend have a fee to cover the cost of making it happen. I see no problem with that here. Compared to the cost of guns and ammo, 5 or 10 bucks to make for an organized, safe, and reasonable event is no biggee....and kind of like my comment in the "travel with guns" thread, if you can't spare the cost of a beer to be at the shoot, maybe you don't need to be at the shoot.

Sharing and not sharing are a fine split, but newbies who are learning to shoot ought to find an instructor type person for there very first time behind a firearm rather than just look for a gun they want to shoot.

thats good info to know, i've never personally fired a gun and would love too, i'm sure if i got to it i'll be able to find someone to show me how safely fire

That is what we did last year. We split the firing line between those who didn't mine sharing and those who did.

Acoustica, you make a good point. I may bring an ice cooler with gatorade or something.

Suggestion: Any firearm owners who don't mind first-time-shooters learning on their gear, well they ought to be noted and pointed out for the newbies. I for one want to know if you have ever even seen a gun before you get close to mine. :>

Common sense should tell you that eye and ear protection are needed. Why degrade your hearing just to save a dollar. Put your sunglasses on at least and protect your eyes

My time in Nevada has taught me to always bring water while outside there. Biodegradable paint is probably one of the better ideas for range lines... Fees are a good deterrent to freeloaders who want to go shoot someone else's gun and ammo and not contribute to the costs of those things. If I have my own firearm by then, I'll definitely go. That all depends on circumstance though :)
