    medics

will anyone with Medic training be at the Shoot this year? if you are willing to serve as an on-site emergency volunteer (bringing an aid kit of your own, wearing something conspicuous like a red cross boonie hat perhaps) i'll let you make use of the staff lanes or something.

just sort of casting around for ideas... how do we want to handle medical care preparation?
"I'll admit I had an OiNK account and frequented it quite often… What made OiNK a great place was that it was like the world's greatest record store… iTunes kind of feels like Sam Goody to me. I don't feel cool when I go there. I'm tired of seeing John Mayer's face pop up. I feel like I'm being hustled when I visit there, and I don't think their product is that great. DRM, low bit rate, etc... OiNK it existed because it filled a void of what people want."

I've got First Aid with CPR and pack a boo-boo kit with me at all times for what it's worth.

Volunteer firefighter/first responder. Since I'm driving I'll have a decent kit with me.

I'm not registered for the event, but am a firefighter/emt and am looking for something to take up some time on Thursday. I can drive out to the site after registration, just let me know if you want/need help.

that would be terrific, actually. and if you're willing to act as a medic and have a bag of supplies with you i'll gladly comp your admission.

email me and i'll put you in the database properly. deviant[at]deviating[dot]net

If you will be at Registration can you buy badges for the shoot attendees?

astcell has this wonderful idea last year and I never know really who to call on it, astcell can likely clarify it better, but its to the effect of finding some local Navy Reserve Corpsman and making Defcon their one weekend of the month training.

Actually I know several service members who are going to Defcon on official orders, also some who will attend in lieu of drill, and I will sign their 1380 to verify attendance. No secret snooping, just a desire to learn at a place that has a lot to teach.

You may even get an off duty LV paramedic to come out shoot for free in trade for being at the ready.

I'm not signed up for the shoot (yet), but I'm an EMT-B with lots of Quikclot patches.

I'll be around starting monday, so if you want to give me cash, I'd be willing to pick up a badge for you. Not sure if they have a limit on number of badges you can grab though.
