Even though the BBQ is off the list this year there is one event that was going to happen at the BBQ that I think still needs to happen. Check this out and let me know what you think.
Objective: We all love Ice Cream and we all certainly love Alcohol in all its forms especially at Defcon. So I present to you a challenge to create a blend of Ethanol (Alcohol) and Ice Cream that’s unique and tasty. You'll have a little over two days after signing your self or team up to devise a plan to make your very own booze infused ice cream concoction.
*For those under 21 (or those who just don't drink) we will have a category called "Virgin Toxic Ice Cream" all the flavor minus the booze.
Things to Think About: Booze in Ice Cream is not a new thing as cultures have been mixing alcohol in and with everything we run across and ice cream is no exception. There are a few companies and boutique ice cream parlors that make alcoholic ice cream. From what I have noticed many only contain the flavor of booze but lack any noticeable amount of ethanol. This is due to many reasons. The first being its easier to market this way because the audience is larger since there wouldn’t be a restriction on selling it. The second is a challenge you will have to face as the freezing point of ethanol is quite low (−114 °C, 159 K, -173 °F).
"Suggestions: You can get ice cream from the hotel restaurant or buffet as well as the two fast food places and gas stations near the hotel. you should also be able to get any booze from the hotel or gas station near by. There are usually mini fridges in most hotels rooms to help setup the ice cream, dry ice and a bucket of ice from the hotel ice machine can also work."
Rules:
· You must be 21 to participate in the alcoholic category
· Entries will only be accepted on Friday, August 5 · 2:00pm - 4:00pm
